With Democrats’ walkout over redistricting bringing the House to a standstill, both parties are accusing each other of abandoning Central Texas flood victims.

Texas Republicans put new pressure Tuesday on absent Democrats to get them to return to the state, testing whether they’re willing to stay away for another month to try to kill a plan to redraw congressional districts in favor of Republicans.

Gov. Greg Abbott's special session is underway in the Texas Legislature but with only one functioning chamber. The state House has not been able to meet this month while dozens of Democrats try to stall Republicans' efforts to reconfigure the state's congressional districts.
