It took 47 major league games before Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes gave up seven hits to an opposing lineup.

Skenes last pitched on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Brewers in one of his poorest starts of the year, lasting just four innings while giving up four earned runs in the Pirates’ 14-0 loss. Granted, the Brewers swept the Pirates as part of their 14-game losing streak that was just broken on Sunday against the Cincinnati Reds.

Skenes has a 4-4 record in 12 starts at PNC Park in 2025, with a 1.81 ERA over 74.2 innings pitched, 78 strikeouts to 14 walks, a .193 opposing batting average and a 0.88 WHIP.
