Pennsylvanians who were counting on soon being able to purchase adult-use cannabis in the state had their hopes dashed this week when a state Senate committee almost immediately rejected House Democrats’ proposal to utilize a state-store model to sell recreational marijuana.

Democrat Lisa Boscola, of the Lehigh Valley, joined 6 Republicans in voting 'no' on the measure, which passed the state house last week.
