A tour bus rolled over in a "serious mass casualty" crash on a major highway in upstate New York Friday, officials said. The collision closed all lanes on the New York State Thruway near Pembroke, around 30 miles northeast of Buffalo and 40 miles southeast of Niagara Falls, New York State Police said .

On Jan. 5, 2024, a tour bus traveling through upstate New York from Montreal, Canada rolled over on Interstate 87 southbound in Lake George, resulting in the death of one passenger, a passenger with serious injuries and 10 passengers with non-life threatening injuries.

Five people died, and 49 were injured following the tour bus crash in Pembroke, New York on Friday, Aug. 22, the New York State Police has confirmed.
