The Dallas Cowboys – if you had not heard – made a very safe, run-of-the-mill and uncontroversial play when the hired current offensive coordinator, Brian Schottenhemier, to be their 10th head coach.

A former Georgia Bulldog assistant is officially a head coach in the NFL. On Jan. 24, the Dallas Cowboys promoted former Georgia assistant Brian Schottenheimer to be their next head coach. Schottenheimer is set to replace Mike McCarthy, who was fired after five years, leading the Cowboys to a 49-35 record, including a 1-3 record in the postseason.

Philadelphia offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, who formerly filled that job for the Cowboys, was the first to interview in the wake of McCarthy’s departure. Former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh and Seattle assistant head coach Leslie Frazier were next.
