The U.S. announced the names of four soldiers who were killed by an Iranian drone on Sunday. The leader of the U.S. Central Command said more than 50,000 troops, 200 fighters, two aircraft carriers and bombers were participating in the fighting.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Israel said it launched airstrikes against Iranian missile launchers and a nuclear research site Tuesday, and Iran struck back against Israel and across the Gulf region, targeting U.S. embassies and disrupting energy supplies and travel.

Israel exchanged further strikes with Iran overnight into Tuesday while it continues its assault on Lebanon, intensifying a conflict which has already killed hundreds, caused Washington to warn Americans to leave much of the region and threatens to spark a global energy crisis.

Israel sent troops into southern Lebanon on Tuesday and warned residents of more than 80 villages to evacuate as the Iran-backed militant Hezbollah group said it was ready for an “open war” with Israel in the wake of the U.

Israel continues to hit terror targets within Iran following the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday in a joint military offensive involving Jerusalem and the U.S., known as "Operation Epic Fury.

The Israeli military said it had seized areas of southern Lebanon on Tuesday in an escalating conflict with the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia, as the State Department closed its embassies in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait after drone attacks and urged Americans to depart immediately from 14 Middle East countries.
