Israel has repeatedly bombed Lebanon despite a November ceasefire that sought to end over a year of hostilities between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah. Under the agreement, Hezbollah was to pull its fighters back north of the Litani River, around 30 kilometres (20 miles) from the border with Israel.

Nouri's five sons were killed outside a clinic in Deir al-Balah on Thursday, while a third was seriously wounded.
