India’s leading wicket-taker of 2024 has been named the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year at the ICC Awards.

The 50-over World Cup is far older and has been competed for since back in 1975. Australia are the record winners having run out victorious on five occasions (1987, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015). England took the 2019 crown after a dramatic Ben Stokes-inspired super-over win over New Zealand at Lord's.

India's leading T20I wicket-taker, Arshdeep Singh has been crowned ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year 2024. The International Cricket Council (ICC) took to X to announce that Arshdeep has bagged the award after fending off competition from Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza, Australia's Travis Head and Pakistan's Babar Azam.

Tilak Varma's brilliant 72 not out guided India to a thrilling two-wicket victory over England on Saturday, handing the hosts a 2-0 lead in the five-match Twenty20 International series. India successfully chased down 166 with four balls to spare after the visitors set a competitive total of 165-9.

Tilak Varma played a lone hand as he shepherded India across the finish line against England with an unbeaten 72 off 55 balls in the second Twenty20 on Saturday. Varma's third T20 half-century rescued India from 78-5 in the 10th over and chased down the target of 166 with four balls remaining.
