Assistant AG placed on unpaid leave following arrest in Newport

A Rhode Island state prosecutor recorded on body camera footage telling Newport police officers they were going to regret arresting her will be placed on unpaid leave, the Attorney General’s office confirmed Friday.

Body camera footage from the arrest has reached national news. Flanagan will go on unpaid leave starting Aug. 22.
