Lockheed Martin stock tanked after the defense and aerospace firm came in miles below Q2 earnings estimates. But there’s reason to load up on the LMT shares on post-earnings decline.

Lockheed slashed its earnings forecast to range from $21.70 per share to $22 per share, down from $27 to $27.30 per share. The company now sees its business operating profit ranging from $6.6 billion to $6.7 billion, compared to its previous forecast for $8.1 billion to $8.2 billion.

Shares of Lockheed Martin (LMT) slid, leading losses on the S&P 500 after the defense contractor missed earnings and revenue estimates and cut its outlook as aerospace and helicopter programs slumped.
