Drive from Ferry onto North Road. Follow along 10 minutes or more until you see a sign that says Sandwell. Turn L onto Barrett. Follow Barrett for a couple of minutes and it will turn down and to the R quite steeply. At the bottom of this curvy hill you MUST veer Left. Then follow the signs to Sandwell. You will come to a small grassy parking area - not very well signed. Park. You will see a wide walking trail going in the same direction as if you had kept driving. It is about a 20 minute walk, with some short hills which can be quite steep, if like me, you have bad knees. If no worries when hiking then it is fine. Just up and down. Eventually you will see the opening of the skies and have to walk on a narrow path through the wild roses. Just keep on going and you will get to the beach. There was a path way quite close to the beginning of the path that was a quicker access, but it was damaged during a storm. Enjoy. Take in what you need, if you want to spend time at the beach...
