We are thinking of hiring kayaks later this month with The Kayak Shack but are concerned about the paddle upstream to get to the head of the spring (before floating back down with the current). Please can you confirm how difficult the upstream stretch is, and how long this usually takes? Thank you!

My husband and I had never kayaked before and are not in the best of shape- the river is spring fed so the resistance is fairly low- it does vary at some points- but I think they told us it moves at 1 mile an hour- I am not sure of the distance you are referring to, but I believe we made it to the half way point in about 45 minutes? at a very casual pace. if the halfway point is the ice cream pontoon. Have fun-

Depends on your age and physical condition. I'm 65, took about 2 and half hours
