I am not sure about the crowd size on a Sunday morning, but it is a very large museum so there is lots to see. If there is something you specifically want to see just gather around and wait your tour. Or you can go on to other things and try back later. There are some informational cards by many displays, and you can enjoy looking at them as you wait.

Does this museum have a good collection of medieval knights armor etc on display? Or is there a better museum for that kind of thing in Amsterdam? It appears that the main draw is the art collection here, but the description indicates lots of different types of exhibits. Thanks.

I would not call it good, but it's definitely worth visiting
My daughter had a small bag and I a side bag. Niether was a problem but the various guides around the museum tell one to keep the bag at your front to deter pickockets.
