There is not enough mosquito spray on the earth to make a return visit possible. Absolute bummer. We got out of the car for less than 30 seconds and were in a literal cloud of mosquitos. I have NEVER…Full review by Sightsee24905295956

Clean, modern museum with an interactive playground and walking trail for kids. Great staff! We drove the complete route on a cool autumn morning and the views were gorgeous! Birds of many varieties …Full review by Janice J

This was our second trip and at a different time of the year. Although not as many birds as in spring, we still saw plenty and just enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Probably not worth a special trip, b…Full review by Erica D

Because of all the wildlife which get stressed with dogs around and the idea is to watch the wildlife. It not a good idea at center to bring a dog. However, the do it your self auto drive tour would be a good dog on lease. I would call the Bear River migratory bird center before you bring dogs.

There are actually no hiking trails but it is using your vehicle as a blind, however you can stop and get out of your car anywhere. You will see a lot of different birds that inhabit there, not only the migratory birds. We love this refuge. the visitor center I believe is open on Saturdays. You may want to go to their website and check that out. that will give you hours and bird lists for seasons.
We will be there in late Aug. Love to photograph shore birds and birds of prey. What can we expect? Trails and road will be passable and what about insects?. Thanks all

I went in June a few years ago and it was extremely dry and there were hardly any birds out. The prime time to visit is May

They are usually not bad anytime during the year. I have spent a lot of time on the refuge and have never been bitten by a mosquito. It would still be a good idea to have se repellant just in case. Midges can be bad. People confuse them with mosquitos. However they do not have mouth parts and cannot bite. Gnat season wil, be over than so they won't be a problem. Come and enjoy the birds.
