Beautiful way to see the immense beauty of Alaska. Comfortable ride, warm, lots of dining options and super hospitable staff on board. It's a long day but was totally worth it.Full review by CaliKateandCo
Are there any shorter trips where you can return to Anchorage the same day?

Hello Global! If you are able to travel on the 1st Thursday of the month Oct-May there is a RT offered from Anchorage-Hurricane. It's cheaper but doesn't have dining available.

Hi I’m not Marjory but will share info with you. Most tours do not operate in the winter in Fairbanks. We were there in April. The Santa Claus house was closed. We drove to Denali to enjoy the park without many visitors. We had a hard time finding a place to eat and use the restrooms. The train ride was the reason we went. It did not disappoint. We flew in to Fairbanks and out of Anchorage. The train goes north on Saturday and south on Sunday. They may had other days as needed. it is the aurora winter train. Our hotel had a shuttle to the station and the hotel in Anchorage sent a shuttle to pick us up. We used LaQuinta. Hope this helps. I love Alaska especially in the winter.
